Executives of the Eastern Community Association worshipped at the Anglican Church of the Epiphany on Sunday January 30, 2011. They were joined in worship by a team of uniform police officers headed by Superintendent Ismella Davis and representatives from a few private schools in East New Providence.

This was regarded as the largest turnout ever of ECA members at a church service since its inception.

EASTERN COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION ANNUAL COMMUNITY CULTURAL FESTIVAL SATURDAY MAY 14TH 2011

Come to the Fabulous Fun Festival of the Eastern Communities of East New Providence!

The ECA Annual Festival will be held on Saturday May 14th from 12 noon to 12 midnight at the Eastern Community Town Centre.

The Festival will feature food and other stalls, attractions; a teenage dance party, performances from the RBPF, HMP, and RBDF Pop Bands, and features our own Eastern Community Marching and Concert Band. Other attractions include the Kiddies Corner, Hot Rods, Classic/Vintage Cars and Motor-Bikes Displays. In addition, there will be performances and displays by the RBPF Band, Cadets and Dogs, and Fire Engine rides and police vehicles. Camperdown Stables will provide equestrian rides to children. There will also be hand-held games on television screens, as well as the Wizard Play House and Basketball Shoot-Outs in the Kiddies Corner.

There will be a Panel Discussion focusing on the commemoration of International Women’s Day, the Struggle, and Equality, etc. Panelists will include The Honourable Loretta R Turner, Minister of State in the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, Mrs. Melanie S Griffin, M.P. for Yamacraw, Arch-Deacon James Palacious, Reverend Angela Palacious, Mr. Ellison Greenslade, Commissioner of Police, and others.

The Official Welcoming Ceremony of the Festival will commence at 4:00pm and will last for an hour under the patronage of the Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, the Honourable Charles T. Maynard. Other Ministers of the Government along with Members of Parliament and the clergy will attend as platform guests and greetings will be extended by the Members of Parliament for East New Providence.

The Eastern Community Association will honor Mr. Keith Simms, Mr. Ernst Rumer and Mr. Prince Rahming for long and outstanding service and Master Craignal Wright Jr and Ms.Talitha Cartwright outstanding members of the band.  The Commissioner of Police will be presented with a plaque thanking him for his support of the Eastern Community Pacesetters Youth Band and Program

Movie in the Park has been tentatively set for Friday the 26th August, 2011 at Sunglow Park in the Township of Colony Village from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

All residents of the east are encouraged to attend our Bible School in the Park. We meet at the Yamacraw Towncentre (where the police station, library and post office are located) from 3-5 PM on the 2nd and 3rd Saturday of each month except during June, July and August. During these months, we meet every Saturday.
